February 1st 2015 CGFD Respondes To The South End School

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the South End School on the report of smoke in a classroom. The school was evacuated. Firefighters located a malfunctioning heating unit. No damaged or injuries were reported.

January 31st 2015 CGFD Respondes To Carlson PKWY Dryer Fire

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the basement of a Carlson Parkway Residence on the report of a dryer fire. Firefighters overhauled the fire and vented the smoke. No injuries were reported. 

CGFD Responds To Bank Of America For Odor Of Smoke

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the Bank of America on the report of an odor of something burning. Firefighters located a malfunctioning light ballast in the foyer.

Digging Out! Removal of snow from around fire hydrants.

After snow storms, when needed, members of the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department are detailed out to remove snow from hydrants.  With over 525 hydrants in the township fire fighters cannot clear them all. Chief James Zaccaria asks residents to clear snow from hydrants located on or near their properties. Its a matter of, when there is a fire, precious time can be lost locating and clearing a fire hydrant

February 20th 2015 CGFD Responds To Motor Vehicle Crash

Cedar Grove Police, EMS, and Firefighters responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. One person was extricated from the vehicle and debris was removed from the roadway

February 21st 2015 CGFD Responds To Elevator Entrapment

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to 110 Grove Avenue to removed a employee who was trapped in a stalled elevator. The employee was removed quickly and was not injured.

February 25th 2015 CGFD Responds To Ring Extrication

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded for a resident with a ring stuck on her finger. The ring had been accidently crushed onto the finger by a car door. Firefighters use recently acquired equipment and training to remove the ring without further incident.

February 21st 2015 CGFD Responds To Mulch Pile Fire

Cedar Grove Firefighters Responded to the report of smoke in the area of a Chestnut Court residence. While checking the area Cedar Grove Police Officers located a mulch pile fire at the Caputo Tree Service Yard on Village Park Road. The mulch fire was found to be the source of the smoke of smoke. Firefighters extinguished the fire with the assistance of on site heavy equipment.

February 27th 2015 CGFD Responds To Smoke Condition

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the report of smoke inside a house. Firefighters located a small lint fire in a dryer on the first floor. The fire was confined to the dryer. No injures were reported.
