Each night when you lay your head down, you can rest peacefully--knowing the Cedar Grove Fire Department is standing guard over our community. Our volunteer firefighters are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, always ready to spring into action at a moments notice to protect life and property. When the call comes in, we leave our jobs and our families to assist you in your emergency.

 

Our mission is to provide the residents of Cedar Grove with a highly trained and efficient fire suppression and prevention organization that protects the community from the ravage of fire and other hazardous situations. During 2005 we saw the number of emergency calls we responded to escalate to nearly 400, with roughly 6,000 man-hours devoted to those calls in Cedar Grove and our mutual aid areas. These yearly statistics are ever growing, and only emphasize the importance of having our members always at the ready and properly trained on the latest tactical maneuvers and state-of-the-art equipment.

 

The Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department has been responsible for providing fire protection, rescue service and other emergency assistance for the Township since 1908. Our members are Cedar Grove residents, dedicated to bettering the community and providing a safe living environment for all. We rely on our brother and sister firefighters on a daily basis, and put our lives in each other’s hands, when a fellow firefighter is in need, others are there to lend assistance.

 

Now we need to ask you, the members of the community we protect, for your financial support. Over the past year, we've all seen that First Responders are always there for America--no matter how tough the job. Now we're asking that you be there for us...when we need your help the most.

 

Donations from residents and area businesses are vital in order for us to maintain and upgrade our firehouses as well as our lifesaving and support equipment. Because of ever increasing training requirements, and other time constraints on our volunteers, we are asking you to mail back your donations.
